A Sweet Zara Find!

Once in a blue moon, I treat myself with a shopping splurge to update my wardrobe (and then pass down and/or donate old clothes). And, it’s usually great bonding time with my sister. Currently, my ongoing goal is to shed my emo college and bohemian Coachella-esque LA layers of fashion from my 20s and adopt more chic adult fashion for my 30s. Needless to say, it’s a struggle!

My latest sweet find is a pair of pants from Zara, which were surprisingly decently priced! I hardly shop at Zara and do more window shopping and form ensembles in my mind to find at other stores, but I managed to snag this last pair of pants in my size, and they look amazing and I’m obsessed.

Saddest… OFAllTime

I dont know what it will take
to heal this tragic heartbreak.
Waking up every day is more miserable
than the days we spent together enduring our troubles.
I wish this bed would concave and hurt,
in crushing, crippling comfort.
If it means you’re not lying here beside me,
I’d rather descend to Hell in misery.
I want my tears to drown me in this forlorn,
because this inner war of truth makes my body torn.
Without you, I constantly choke when I breathe,
and I wait for the day my heartbeat will cease.

Gojo Glass Painting!

This weekend I took a “me-weekend,” to spend time alone with myself as I work through some of the tough things I’m dealing with. Admittedly I did do some work for my job and WriteHive, but then my goal was to start and finish my first glass painting. And yes, this, too, was inspired by my trash TikTok ways, but I’m thankful for seeing so many artists sharing their work and process online, because it inspired me to do one of my own and now, many more!

Who did I paint? Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen. Anyone who knows me knows I fell completely head over heels for this anime, and it was a shining light that came out of 2020. Well, going to San Japan last weekend, I had a goal to find a Gojo keychain to add to my keychain troupe – a tradition I have whenever I go to conventions. But alas, I didn’t find one I wanted to buy, so this painting was my way to make up for it.

You Found Beauty Amongst the Broken

I’ve been tossed around and shattered
one too many times,
but you never tried to fix me.

You see me and understand me, holistically,
without needing to glue me all back together.

You love every little piece of me,
no matter how sharp,
no matter how ugly,
no matter how broken.

You appreciate all of my pieces;
whether they’re temporarily taped together
or fallen into a scattered mess,
you still think I’m beautiful.

You aren’t afraid to hold up
another mirror to show me
where I need growth
so I can be whole again.

I know I’m not easy to love,
but you do every single day,
even when we’ve gone our separate ways.
Thank you for loving me.
And for everything you did
to love me the best way you could,
I’m grateful.
